Leicester City forward Shane Flynn has had a successful operation following a foot injury.
The 17-year-old Irishman has featured heavily for Trevor Peake’s Under-18 side this term but is now on the road to recovery after undergoing surgery at the Spire Hospital in Oadby, Leicestershire.
Following the surgery, Flynn posted an injury update to his Twitter account on Monday (25 February) and thanked the hospital staff for their work.
“Just wanted to say a massive thank you to the staff at the Spire Hospital Leicester for the brilliant care before, during and after my surgery today,” he wrote. “Thankfully all went well and the road to recovery begins now!”
Flynn, who can play as a left winger or as a striker, joined the Foxes from Bray Wanderers on a two-year scholarship deal in 2018. His teammates are in action at King Power Stadium on Wednesday, as they host Watford in the quarter-finals of the FA Youth Cup (7pm).
