European scouting expert Adrián Espárraga has left his role with Leicester City.
The Spaniard left his position as Senior Scout at the club in January of this year amid strong rumours over the future of recruitment chief Eduardo Macià.
Espárraga moved to Leicester City in December 2016, shortly after
Macià’s arrival as Head of Senior Player Recruitment. The duo worked together at Real Betis before their moves to Leicester City.
Scandinavian scout Jakob Friis-Hansen also joined the Foxes around the same as Espárraga but it is unclear whether he remains at the club.
Leicester City have been linked with a move for Celtic’s Head of Recruitment, Lee Congerton, whose contract at Celtic Park expires in the summer.
According to the Telegraph, Brendan Rodgers is keen to reunite with Congerton following spells working together at Chelsea and Celtic, although the 45-year-old recruitment chief is interested in pursuing work abroad.
The contract of Eduardo Macià expires at the end of this season and the Spaniard has been linked with the Sporting Director position at Ligue 1 side Bordeaux.
