Leicester City midfielder Sidnei Tavares has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 17-year-old, who has made 16 appearances for Trevor Peake’s Under-18s side this term, has penned a deal which keeps him at King Power Stadium until 2021.
Tavares’ impressive form this season earned him two caps for Portugal Under-18s in December 2018, when he represented his country at the internationally renowned La Manga Tournament.
The Foxes signed Tavares from local grassroots club Carib SSFC in 2010 when the youngster was nine years old.
Dutch defender Justen Kranthove is the only other member of the Under-18 side to be under contract at Leicester City until 2021. He signed from Dutch amateur club AFC ’34 last summer.
