Tonbridge Angels have confirmed that their 17-year-old midfielder Josh Stirman is on trial with Leicester City.
Stirman, who is currently on loan at Hythe Town in the Bostik South East, will train and play with the Under-18s as he hopes to earn a contract at King Power Stadium.
“It’s a great opportunity for him,” Hythe manager Sam Denly told KentOnline. “He’s been really good for us, he’s a smashing lad, a great talent and he’s got a few clubs looking at him.
“He’s an attacking winger, got good pace, energetic, gets forward and he’s a dangerous player. He’s come on a few times for us and looked lively.
“It’s given him that lift and confidence when he steps down to his age group so hopefully he can show that at Leicester.”
The teenager played in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Mansfield Town yesterday (August 28) at Belvoir Drive.
