Seventeen-year-old defender Louis Patris has signed his first professional contract with Oud-Heverlee Leuven.

Patris has put pen-to-paper on a three year deal after some impressive displays at centre-half for the club’s Under-21s.

The former Standard Liege prospect joined Leuven in 2015 and flourished under the tuition of former coach Joost Hendrickx, who has recently left his role as manager of Leuven Under-21s.

Technical director Wim De Corte told Leuven’s official website: “We attach great importance to youth education. We therefore want to bind the best players from this to our club. By giving Louis Patris a contract for three seasons, we express our confidence in him and give him time to develop further. We also thank his parents for the confidence they place in the club to guide Louis towards a beautiful football future. ”
