Leicester City have signed defender Mitch Clark from Aston Villa.
Clark was released by Villa at the end of last season, where the 20-year-old had played since the age of seven.
The Foxes’ Head of 17-23 Recruitment, Tom Thacker, has been hard at work over the summer and has now signed four players for the Development Squad.
Former Villa defender Clark spent last season on loan at Port Vale, where he made 40 appearances, but they were rebuffed in their attempt to sign the full-back on a permanent basis.
“I have been told that he has signed for Leicester,” manager John Askey told Stoke Sentinel.
“I think if he goes to Leicester then I don’t think they will loan him out until January anyway. You get to a stage where you just move on and hopefully we can get somebody in better.”
Leicester have already signed Arsenal right-back Vontae Daley-Campbell, Ireland youth international Ali Reghba and former Sheffield Wednesday forward George Hirst.
