Former Manchester City goalkeeper Arlo Doherty has been named on the bench for Leicester City Under-18s’ fixture against Southampton this afternoon.
Doherty has represented the Republic of Ireland at under-15 and under-16 level and left Manchester City over the summer.
Before moving to the Premier League champions, Doherty was in the academy set-up at Norwich City and built a strong reputation with a string of impressive performances.
Rumours circulated over the summer the goalkeeper, who is in the under-16 age group, was on trial with Leeds United and featured in a friendly against Tadcaster Albion.
It is unclear whether Doherty is on trial with Leicester or whether he has recently signed a scholarship contract.
