Former Leicester City academy director Gareth Jennings will join FIFA as Head of Technical Leadership Programs.

Jennings is currently the Academy Director at Stoke City, a role he has held since leaving Leicester City in September 2016.

He worked for Leicester City as Head of Academy Education between 2012 and 2014. He left to run the academy at Bristol City before returning to become Leicester’s Academy Director in July 2015.

The UEFA Pro License coach, who his currently learning Chinese, will take up his new position at FIFA in June, according to Training Ground Guru.

Stoke City CEO Tony Scholes told the official Stoke City website: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gareth for all his hard work over the last two-and-a-half years. We are sorry to see him leave but wish him every success for the future and in his new role at FIFA.”
