Former Foxes striker Tommy Wright has revealed that his goal is to become an academy coach at Leicester City.

Wright, who came through the youth system at Leicester, has just left his job as manager of Stratford Town and currently coaches in the Mansfield Town academy.

The 35-year-old has ambitions of returning to his hometown club, for whom he made his professional debut under Dave Bassett in March 2002.

“If I’m not going to manage anymore and depending on what Mansfield want me to do, my career goal is to get back into the building as a coach in the youth set-up at Leicester,” Wright told The Athletic.

“I would love to be involved again at the club and I have asked Jon Rudkin multiple times but it is not that easy in this day and age. A lot of people want these jobs.”
