While solid and reliable transfer news has been hard to come by over the last few weeks, the Sun have linked Leicester with a couple of players over the past few days.
First off was a link to ADO Den Haag defender Wilfried Konan, who is set to play for the Ivory Coast at the African Cup of Nations this summer. The 25-year-old is also being targeted by a number of other clubs. While Rodgers will be prioritising a right-back to provide cover for Ricardo Pereira, the arrival of a centre-back is not unlikely if Caglar Soyuncu and Filip Benkovic leave the club on loan.
The Sun’s Mike McGrath then said Leicester City and West Ham United were looking to sign Tottenham striker Fernando Lllorente, who is out of contract this summer. The Spaniard notched eight goals and five assists last season, a decent record that could see him provide competition to Jamie Vardy and Kelechi Iheanacho.
We also saw the rumours that Arjen Robben was a transfer target for Leicester. Here at FoxesHub, we still can’t get our heads around the fact that anybody can make a post on social media, a few people retweet it and all of a sudden it’s being reported as fact by several media outlets. It’s irresponsible and unnecessary.
FoxesHub supports bloggers and journalists without formal training who conduct good, thorough work by using their research skills and contacts book to publish a genuine, interesting story. There is no place for fabricated stories that are published with the sole intention of generating retweets and likes – with a nice ego boost thrown in as the fake stories get picked up by irresponsible journalists elsewhere.
As for the week ahead (and weeks to come) on FoxesHub, the editorial team have developed a new content structure this week. We will publish relevant and accurate (or plausible and reliable if they have come from an external source) news stories on a daily basis throughout the week. We may have an exclusive story on some Leicester City contract news in the coming days.
Tuesday will see the launch of our ‘Young Foxes’ column, which will summarise the week gone by for the club’s Under-23 and Under-18 sides. On Wednesday, we will publish our first Oud-Heverlee Leuven column, which will follow a similar tone to the ‘Young Foxes’ series.
Towards the end of the week, we will launch Feature Fridays, with a new feature or interview to be published at the end of every working week. Hopefully this will give readers an interesting and enjoyable read to wind down and kick-start the weekend on a positive and fun note.
Throughout next season (and pre-season too), we will be producing regular match content on Saturdays. And on Sundays, you will see an editorial column, just like this one, that recaps the week gone by and previews the next one.
