Leicester City have promoted highly-regarded scout Callum Smithson to the Head of Technical Scouting role.
Smithson steps up from his job as Technical Scout to fill the vacancy left by Ollie Waldron’s departure to Bordeaux in March.
The club advertised a vacancy for Waldron’s previous role and decided that Smithson was the best candidate after a thorough recruitment process.
Several scouts have previously been promoted from within the club, such as Rob Mackenzie, Ben Wrigglesworth and, most recently, Adam Fox.
Meanwhile, the club is restructuring the academy recruitment department, a move which has seen Bill Wall’s job title change from Head of Academy Recruitment to Head of Scouting.
