Former Liverpool striker Adam Morgan has revealed that he ‘should have gone to Leicester’ when the club offered him a contract in 2014.

Morgan had just left Anfield and received offers from Yeovil Town (where he had spent time on loan), Leicester and Carlisle.

The striker, now 25, is currently playing for Widnes in the eighth their of English football.

“I should have gone to Leicester”, Morgan told The Athletic.

“It was exactly the same contract on exactly the same money, only Yeovil were saying I’d play every week and Leicester were saying I’d start out in the under-21s.

He continued: “I just didn’t fancy playing in the under-21s at Leicester. I thought I was ready for first-team football.”
