Leicester City have signed 17-year-old central midfielder Callum Wright from Blackburn Rovers.
The former Tranmere and Everton schoolboy has penned a contract with the Foxes until 2021.
Wright caught the eyes of scouts across England with four goals in ten appearances for Rovers’ Under-23s.
“Ultimately, we did everything we could to try and keep Callum, but the situation was taken out of our hands when Premier League clubs became interested,” Stuart Jones, Blackburn’s Academy Manager, told rovers.co.uk.
He continued: “He’s a young player and when Premier League clubs came calling, both he and his family were keen to move on.”
